Corrections come first
Patagonia changes underneath a guide faster than most destinations. Ferry sailings on the Carretera Austral get cut, CONAF adjusts an entry fee, a refugio on the W opens its bookings on a different date than last year, a bus that ran daily in February runs twice a week in May. If you have just been and found something here out of date, that is the most valuable message this site can receive.
What helps: the guide it is on, the specific line or figure, and what you found instead. A link to the operator or park page you saw it on is better still — it goes straight into the revision.
Also welcome
- Something a guide should cover and does not — a trail, a crossing, a town, a season.
- Reports from the ground, particularly outside the December-to-February peak, when conditions are hardest to verify remotely.
- Questions about photograph credits and Creative Commons licensing.
- Press, syndication and general enquiries about the site.
What cannot be helped with
Worth saying plainly. This site is not an agency and has no relationship with any operator, so it cannot book, change, chase or refund anything. Torres del Paine tickets and refugios, Perito Moreno boat trips, buses, flights and cruises all have to go through whoever sells them — the relevant guide will tell you who that is. Complaints against a company have to go to that company. Nor can a guide tell you whether your particular knees will manage Laguna de los Tres, or make a call that really needs a doctor, an insurer or a consulate.
Messages are usually answered within a few working days. Corrections are often acted on before a reply goes out, so if a page quietly gets better and you never hear back, that was you.
