Carretera Austral

Chile's Route 7, a thousand-plus kilometres of gravel, fjord and ferry between Puerto Montt and Villa O'Higgins. Driving it without breaking the car or the schedule, seven to fourteen-day routes, and the stops that justify the effort: Pumalín, Queulat's hanging glacier, the Marble Caves and Patagonia National Park.
